Features

The DL® 500 outdoor luminaire in two construction sizes (MIDI, MAXI) for mast or catenary mounting is characterised by a modern design, high quality materials (luminaire housing of diecast aluminium) and excellent workmanship. Equipped with state-of-the-art lighting technology and precise optics, the luminaire offers outstanding solutions in relation to energy efficiency, luminaire spacing, light quality and service life.
The optical system consists of a high performance radial facetted reflector and high grade luminaire enclosure. It is available either in the form of a transparent PMMA enclosure or as a cover panel of toughened safety glass designed for maximum light spill reduction. The highly efficient optics, combined with HST/HST or HIT-CE lamps, allow implementation of large luminaire distances with homogenous illumination. The DL® 500 catenary luminaires are equipped either with a symmetrical reflector (MAXI) or radial facetted optics (MIDI, MAXI) for the fulfilment of specific lighting requirements.
The DL® 500 is highly suitable for the illumination of service and collection roads, main thoroughfares and residential areas. Versions of DL® 500 for railways are specified in Section 4 (Luminaires for special applications).
Despite its robust construction and high IP65 protection rating, the DL® 500 is easy to handle: the lamp cover is hinged downwards by releasing two robust twist-lock catches. A further twist-lock catch secures the gear tray with lamp socket and lamp that can also be folded downwards. This cuts off the power supply; maintenance and control work as well as gear tray replacement can be carried out without danger. The efficient radial facetted reflector for extremely wide, asymmetrical light distribution can be variably positioned: it is adjusted via simple pushing in the horizontal plane, thus allowing it to be precisely matched to the specific lighting task at hand.

Special features
  • family character via two construction sizes with various lamp possibilities
  • luminaire with side-entry, post-top or catenary mounting with uniform design appearance, for all applications within a town
  • efficient radial facetted optics for wide luminaire spacing with highly homogenous illuminance
  • radial facetted optics with flat cover panel for minimised light spill
  • tool-free relamping and gear tray replacement
  • minimised energy input with optimal lighting results due to use of efficient electronic control gears and Siteco Light Control (SLC) lighting management components
  • all electric components mounted on removable gear tray; gear tray opened without tools and hinged downwards; automatic all-pole power disconnection when hinged downwards
  • extremely weather-resistant coating
Housing

Luminaire housing and mast mounting of diecast aluminium | supporting elements of V4A stainless steel | peripheral EPDM seal in the housing profile | luminaire cover either flat cover of toughened safety glass or enclosure of PMMA | can be opened without tools and hinged downwards | high quality, weather-resistant coating in Siteco® metallic grey (DB 702S) | insulation class: II | protection rating: IP65

Electrical

Cover can be opened without tools and hinged downwards; automatic all-pole power disconnection when hinged downwards | tool-free relamping | all electric components mounted on removable gear tray; connection via plug-in coupling | luminaire wired ready for connection, with 2-pole terminal, max. 2.5mm² (version with reducing circuit: 2-pole + 1-pole for 230V control wire, max. 1.5mm²) | optionally with efficient electronic control gear (ECG) and Street Light Control (SLC) lighting management components (SLC: central control and monitoring of intelligent light points) or with LLCG with parallel p.f. correction | power reduction: USt= 230V --> 100% luminous flux; USt= 0V --> 50% luminous flux (with start in power reduction mode: 100% mode initially for approx. 6mins.)

Lighting technology

Extremely wide light distribution and high uniformity via highly efficient radial facetted optics | variable light-band deflection via adjustable optics | high level of system efficiency via optimised light distribution and large luminaire spacings | optical enclosure is either flat cover panel of toughened safety glass for minimised light immission, or transparent enclosure (PMMA)
