| - Flash Two: decorative suspended luminaire with ELDACON® light control |
Munich's Manhattan
Two slimline, glazed towers (113 and 126m high) reach up to dominate Munich's skyline. Their brash design is the work of the star architect Helmut Jahn, whose designs also shaped the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The complex is supplemented with a 5-storey office building and a 5-7 storey hotel. Both towers have a fully glazed facade and are connected via bridges. Together with the exposed elevators and stairwells, these lend the construction a dynamic impression. A central plaza continued within the entrance halls connects both towers.
Perforated Light
The lighting task was to develop a unified concept for the 2, 3 and 4 axis offices, open plan offices, conference rooms and circulation zones. It was decided to use an individual luminaire and continuous row arrangement from Siteco, installed vertical to the glazing. Siteco developed the Flash Two decorative suspended luminaire especially for this project.
The basis is an extremely slim luminaire housing of sheet steel (RAL 9006). According to deployment, the Flash Two with ELDACON® lighting technology or with glass diffuser creates a controlled, wide beam light output. A quadratic, perforated cover is attached to all luminaire variations that complements the materiality and volumetric design of the towers.
The use of ELDACON microprismatic structures gives glare-free lighting for office and circulation areas. They also make possible the use of an extremely minimalised luminaire housing. The combination of direct / indirect beam distribution gives a harmonious, pleasing ambience within the room.
The suspended luminaire has 2xT16 fluorescent lamps with 28W or 54W and electronic control gear. Flash Two shines as an individual luminaire or as a continuous row arrangement.
