The Sharajah Golf And Shooting Club, a combination of golf range and the shooting ranges that are so popular on the arabian hemisphere, is the first fully greened floodlit facility in the Sharjah Emirate. The special importance of the project called for a technically sophisticated lighting concept that had the ability to show it in its full splendour. For this reason, a concept from Siteco was decided upon. The aim was a uniform vertical illumination in the area of 1-5m for the whole facility. The driving range, short-hole green and the putting green were therefore equipped in the first stage with A2 Maxi projectors. Asymmetrical diffuse beam floodlights with equipped with safety glass make sure that even at night-time a professional game without glare is possible. R2 Maxi projectors were deployed for the neighbouring paintball facility.
During the second stage in 2007, high efficiency projectors with rotosymmetrcal beam distribution will be installed for the 9-hole facility with up to 5 different light distribution characteristics, meaning that players can train or play during the night.
The facility was designed by the offices of Peter Harradine, a company specialised on sports facilities.
