The company of Ensinger GmbH, a manufacturer of high performance plastics, has recently founded a new injection moulding works in Rottenburg-Ergenzingen, Germany. As with the planning of their technical systems, cost optimisation for energy was the main focus of lighting planning as well, and this is why the company selected modern, efficient lighting tools from Siteco.
The architecture is based on the concept of the Berlin planning offices of DIA 179, a company that previously designed the expansion of the Ensinger site in Cham. The new construction with 17,000 square metres not only enables more efficient production flows and significant quantity increases, but also impresses with its high level of transparency and energy efficiency. All works areas are closely interconnected, and the 150-metre long manufacturing bay, the open logistics areas and the twin-storey office complex blend harmoniously together.
The core of the new injection moulding site is the production hall, illuminated with daylight by a wide rooflight strip and translucent industrial construction glass in the outer walls. Artificial lighting in the form of NJ 600 high bay reflector luminaires can be switched according to needs, and with 600 lux achieves very high illuminance levels. High bay reflector luminaires are especially suitable for use in high halls, and withstand high ambient temperatures that with Ensinger are created with the extruding machines for plastic processing.
Modario luminaires with multipower technology have been installed in the highbay racking warehouse and material supply rooms. The trunking system, optimised for T16 lamps, convinces with very high lumen yield and low levels of energy consumption. Modario trunking with HDP reflectors also illuminates the measurement technology spaces.
Two box-shaped constructions of glass and concrete are integrated like small houses within the production hall, and these contain the workplaces for the work preparation sectors and quality control. The office islands are illuminated with suspended Novaluna luminaires from Siteco. The modern open-plan offices with central meeting rooms ensure efficient, modern environments for working. The departments for development, project management, procurement, sales and quality management are grouped around two lit courtyards with a direct view and access to the manufacturing areas. Novaluna suspended luminaires are used for general lighting of the open-plan offices, and these are flushly integrated into the ceilings in the form of continuous rows between the 2.4 x 2.4 metre-large ceiling sails. Supplementary Futurel 5MS floorstanding luminaires have been set up for individual, workplace-oriented lighting.
In addition to special communication points, the central cafeteria also allows employees the opportunity for social exchange, and is illuminated by high bay reflector luminaires and linear fluorescent luminaires. Siteco lighting solutions are also to be found in the outdoor areas: SQ 100 road luminaires illuminate the parking places of the company site, ensuring both orientation and safety in the evening hours.
Complete works lighting from one source – energy-efficient and innovative lighting tools from Siteco offer the right lighting solutions for all industrial environments.
